THE
MAGIC SYSTEM

This is something I'll briefly go over as more details will be in my official book. The basic gist of this system is that Deishans are a fallen people. Being born with physical mishaps is common, such as missing limbs or body parts, or being born with multiple eyes, or a face that melted off. The most significant and consistent mishap between all Deishans is being born without any facial features or organs that use the five senses besides the eyes. This does mean that normally, Deishans can't breathe, talk, hear, or smell. This is where the energy system comes in, which enables Deishans with the ability to live without breathing, to talk without sound, and to hear sounds without ears. Smelling and tasting are sadly not included. Nevertheless, being able to simply live is enough for the Deishans.Different senses cost different amount of energy, with living being the least expensive, and hearing being the most expensive. Most Deishans simply live without sound throughout their lives. Now, about Deishans who turn out with a less then perfect body, like L'riel, end up having to use more energy to wield their body together in a concise manner. Such a thing is tedious to live with day by day and is very excessive in energy. Now, how energy is given to a Deishan is that every day cycle through sleeping they naturally renew a quote of energy they can use. Besides that, Deishans have discovered that there are ores out there with energy concentrated into their being. These ores are mined and sold as "energy cells", and while very useful, they are very expensive.Energy cells have always been used for the purpose of energy only. It's only in the progress of this story that our main character, Emir, discovers that energy is more than just energy, and in fact can be wielded for different types of powers. Those powers I shall not speak off for now....

THE
STORY

Now, talking about my story is somewhat hard to do without giving away too much but at the same time not leaving you with the most basic information. I digress, here's the simplest summary of my story (at the moment)When Emir, the prince of a kingdom called Deish, earns the permit to research into the magical energy that powers Deish and its citizens, he falls into a rabbit hole of not only discovering new ways on how to use and conjure energy, but also discovering that he was never the first to do so.This is the simplest way for me to describe the summary. I have much subplots and alternate adventures in my head, and I guess it's my duty to handle how it will all work.....

PRINCE
EMIR

Here's the main character of the story HEHEHEEmir, my love, oh where to begin.Emir is the main character of my story, and as a writer it is my job to give him a character arc, in which Emir is a passionate young man, qquite driven, although he never really looks "passionate and driven" in any of the art I make. It is somewhat in character when I remember that Emir is a character who represses his emotions! He doesn't necessarily repress negative emotions only, in fact he represses his passionate side more often! What EXACTLY is he passionate about? Well, I myself am not too sure but I'm sure it's going to be rooted in magic. Emir represses his passion for magic because of the pressure to do more traditional knight work, and with Cateline desperately needing support to rule a kingdom, Emir wants to be able to help her.

Now, Emir is also a sort of people-pleaser. He tries his best to help others in any way he can. NOW, do hear me out, he helps people because of an insecurity of his, being that no one would care for him back if he never cared first. He would be worthless if he wasn't of use to someone. He hopes to be in favor of people as to not be forgotten. Now this isn't the only reason why he helps people. Of course he helps people out of the love from his heart. Sometimes he helps people out to make up for the help and care he wished he had gotten in his childhood.Speaking of his childhood, I'm not sure if Emir's backstory is something I want to delve in properly in my book, but Emir never had royal blood. He was adopted by Cateline during one of Deish's civil wars. This civil war was caused due to a lack of trust of the citizens in each other, as foul magic play was suspected in many citizens. Magic is something I delve in more in my "Story" page, but for the meantime, I'de like to say that Emir is a special person being someone who inherited the power to naturally renew energy and wield it into magic. Emir's parents were aware of that and were suspects that got killed in this civil war. Cateline, being the Queen of Deish, had to of course intercept this civil war, in which she then met Emir. During this time, magic was in a controversial state as not much as known about it, and when she discovered Emir had magic powers, she decided to adopt him for research's sake. And that's all I'll say for the moment!

L'RIEL

L'riel is a side character whose story I must admittedly work way harder on.Before I begin, I'll say that it would be good to read about Emir beforehand! That being said, to start let's talk about L'riel's childhood before we talk about present L'riel.L'riel is one of the few Deishan citizens born with the disability that is lacking attaching limbs and body parts. Now, Deishans are blessed to have an "energy system", which you can read more in my "Story" page, but with this energy system, they can basically harness this energy to be able to do stuff such as properly wield their limbs.Sadly, doing so is very costly of energy, and so for most of his childhood L'riel was bedridden. It was a very closed in life, with his social exposure being mainly his parents, whom let's just say weren't in a good state. L'riel soon became determined to learn more about energy and magic despite doing so being illegal in Deish.

When he was a bit older L'riel was able to walk around more and go out, in which he met Emir. Emir was around L'riel's age, and since they both shared an interest in magic, they soon became close friends. Soon enough though, they became seperated once the civil war took place, with Queen Cateline taking Emir and adopting him as her own.I haven't necessarily written what happened to L'riel between that time and to the present, but in general, L'riel ended up being a reserved person, ever so sure that with life being as unstable as it was would be hard to hold stable and trustworthy friends.L'riel is a character whose motive I haven't dived into as properly as Emir's. I think I'm sure in him being a person who wants to simply live a stable independent life where he wouldn't have to worry about being a bother for others. I've thought of once making his "outer personality" a more outgoing, extravagant one, with L'riel being more insecure about wanting to prove himself as not only a working Deishan citizen but one with skill and social power. In the present of my story, L'riel is an associate of a secret group who mine and sell "energy cells" to people in need. They are a very rebellious group. L'riel exists in the group as the only one who knows how to wield energy into magic, and it is a very prestigious role, it makes him favored among the group.L'riel never truely found satisfaction being in the group though. He understood their goals and their grudge against the economy of Deish but often saw this all as pointless and he wants to someday move away from Deish. That's all I have planned for L'riel at the moment!

QUEEN CATELINE

THIS CHARACTER is one that is very personal to me, and the story probably wouldn't exist without her. Originally she was a character based off my mother, as well as being the primary antagonist of the story. She is a firm and concise person, leading with a strict but powerful voice over her kingdom. She's a marvel in the eyes of people, seeing that she raised herself up to become such a figure despite being pretty much alone and neglected for her childhood. Her parents were corrupted people and it was a passion of hers to one day take the crown for herself to fix Deish. My plan for her character arc is that Cateline, while single-handedly being the sole reason why Deish still continues as a sane civilization, would really like a break from all the work and pressure she goes through. She's really good at her job and often believes putting it into other people's hands would mess it up. She's had experience with people who ruined stuff for her due to their sinful motives.

Deish has never been perfect for her, and sometimes she wonders if it ever will be. In her cynical head she's convinced herself it would never be, which is a truth that scares her. Now, her relationship with Emir is a good one. Or maybe she thinks it's a good one. Nevertheless, I urge you to read about Emir first before continuing. After Cateline adopted Emir with the intentions of researching magic with potential to help the kingdom, she and him as well as other researches tediously went through processes of figuring out how to harness his magic. It was a short-lived project to her great disdain. They never figured how to harness the magic to their will, with only a few random mishaps of it happening without them figuring out how so. She laid off researching in magic as investing time and money into it would be waste. She nevertheless raised Emir up as her son as she would never find it in her heart to abandon a kid for not being able to do as she thought. This failed experiment still haunts Emir as a scar of him failing. She repeatedly tries to tell him it wasn't his fault but he disagrees so. She's too busy anyways to truly care, she probably just says that to get him to stop moping and to move on.
